Beer Festival - May 2007
Hop Walk and Harvest - September 2007
We hold an annual beer festival on Spring Bank Holiday weekend, dates for 2008 are 23rd-26th May. Last year was a roaring success, despite the horrendous weather. Over 20 real ales could be sampled in our outside beer tent, and activties included a bouncy castle, coconut shy, face painting, hog roast and three nights of live music. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
.
Hampton Estate and The Good Intent hosted a Hop Walk and BBQ as part of the Surrey Farm and Village Week. The walk included a tour of Puttenham’s hop gardens, the last remaining in Surrey and the BBQ promoted locally sourced produce.

There were also beers on offer that are brewed with Fuggles Hops, grown in the Puttenham Hop Garden.

The event was a resounding success, highlighting the increasing awareness of using local produce and supporting local farmers and producers.
Puttenham Bonfire Night 2007
Perhaps the best year yet with 2000 people attending. Yet again the artistic leadership of Charles Bone portrayed the 2007 Napoleon Blownaparte theme and a magnificent coordination of the fireworks, music and bonfire an entertaining evening was enjoyed by young and old alike.

All the profits go to local charities and deserving Puttenham Causes including The Community Group, The Compo Bus, Puttenham School and The Youth Club.

The evening continued in The Good Intent, with our old favourite Live Band 'Far Canal'.

Look forward to seeing you all this year for 'Puttenham Priory and the invasion of the Daleks' on Saturday 6th November.

On Location - In The Good Intent
Film crews moved into Puttenham for a week in May 2007 to film 'A Room with a View', which was shown on ITV in November 2007.

Mark Williams, (also Arthur Weasley in Harry Potter), played the Reverend Beebe and could also be found in The Good Intent tucking into one of my favourites.....a Fish Finger Buttie!

Rachel and Bizzy took the opportunity to get in on the action.

We hosted a Cocktail Evening with Cajun Menu and a Live Jazz Quartet. The music was fabulous, the cocktails were very popular, ranging from a 'Woo Woo' to a 'Trouser Rouser', and the Cajun food, prepared by our new chef sold out. A throughly enjoyable evening, thank you to everybody who supported the event.

Beer Festival - May 2008
Spring Bank Holiday 2008 brought our second annual beer festival and we are pleased to say that the weather really was kind to us....well lets face it, it couldn't be worse than last year! (no marquees blew away!). The whole weekend was fabulous. It kicked off with Hurtwood Jazz on Friday night. Saturday night's line up included 3 bands, the infamous Far Canal followed by Black Iris (our very own Ed's heavy metal) and to top the bill Cryin' Out Loud. Sunday was Bingo and Karaoke and on Monday we moved inside to keep dry and were entertained all lunch time and afternoon by the sounds of Straubenzee. The festival was incredibly well supported so we thank all of you who attended and enjoyed over 20 local real ales, BBQ, bouncy castle, coconut shy and face painting. We look forward to next year!
